May & Baker EC A 3 - 0 Beacon Hill Rovers First
Broomfield Women FC 4 - 1 Beacon Hill Rovers Ladies
Broomfield ran out comfortable winners. Mia White with the goal for Hill.
Beacon Hill Rovers Reserves 2 - 6 Baddow Athletic F.C. First
A tight first half finished 2-1 before Baddow took hold, coming away comfortable winners. Goals for Max Wiley and Nathan Low. Well done to Finley Walton and Ethan Webb on the debuts in men’s football. The reserves squad included four 16-year-olds and a total of 12 under the age of 20.
White Notley 1 - 0 Beacon Hill U16s
Best performance this season despite the reverse.
The lads started this game brightly and played some nice tidy football on the excellent pitch at Notley.
We didn't really stretch them enough to create many clear chances and Jake did well to come out and force their quick forwards into missing a couple of one-on-ones.
The second half continued to be tight with two good sides giving everything. Notley scored from pretty much their only shot in the second half with around 15 to play. What followed was our best spell of the match. Jake had two chances on the stretch before both George and Ethan forced their keeper into excellent saves and securing the win.
A lot was against the boys, with 4 missing through injury or suspension and then losing another during the game. But, despite this, the performance was good and the results will quickly follow.
Beacon Hill U14s 5 - 0 Galleywood Falcons
The U14s faced another tough test, having suffered a heavy defeat to the Falcons just two weeks ago. Both teams were missing their regular keeper, with Ben Large replacing Josh who was unavailable.
In truth, it didn't matter. The boys carried over their brilliant performance from last week. In fact, such was their dominance that Ben was a tad bored, being left to pick up the odd over-hit pass and take a few goal kicks.
Having started the game brightly, the boys got the opening goal after 10 mins. Louie Hunt playing the ball over the top for Callum Webb, who rounded the keeper to score. Having played almost entirely in the opposition's half, the boys were rewarded with a second. This time Luco Webb was the scorer, again after good work from Louie Hunt.
Into the second half and the Falcons changed tactics. Having opted to play their very quick forward in defence, they moved him up top in an effort to get back into the game. The problem was, that gave us more opportunities going forward and we duly accepted the invite.
Archie Keely weaved his way through their midfield before threading a beautifully weighted pass to Alfie Murphy who calmly rounded the keeper. Callum Webb then fired in his 2nd and 3rd goals, finishing off assists 3 and 4 from Louie Hunt.
Another brilliant display from the boys, this time with a scoreline more in reflective of their dominance.
Harlow Tekkers 0-1 BHRFC U12 Girls
A well earned win for the girls today, showing their tenacity and strength throughout - with some fantastic passes and plays that had the opposition scrambling.
A controlling first half with several shots at goal forced Harlow into switching to 4 defenders at the back, but their persistence paid off and broke into the lead early in the 2nd half.
Set pieces from Lily-Dee landed the ball in their danger zone and the girls were quick to capitalise.
Our girls’ solid defence and midfield resulted in the ball always being moved up the pitch and into the feet of Erin and Elizabeth who never stopped working and giving the opposition a real headache.
Georgina played a relentless match down the wing and earned herself the golden boot to seal a well earned win.
It's a 4th Galleywood fixture in a row next week as the boys face last week's opponents the Hawks.
