Beacon Hill U16s 2 - 1 Heddingham
A good start to our cup title defence.

On a day of cup shocks in our league (Burnham Maldon 1) our lads avoided their own banana skin and got their season going with a well-deserved win.

Fin put us one up at halftime with an excellent strike, and despite the opposition scoring with their one real chance, Zach scored a nicely taken winner to give us the cup points.

Beacon Hill U14s 4 - 2 Thaxted
Beacon Hill started the game on the front foot but was fortunate not to go a goal behind after 10 minutes when a lucky break produced a fine double save from Beacon keeper Josh Tovey to deny the visiting team. Beacon did eventually break the visitor's resolve with a well-taken goal from Callum Webb following an excellent assist from Ben Large. They quickly added a second when Alfie Murphy latched onto another Ben Large through ball and made no mistake finding the back of the net. Beacon nearly found themselves 3-0 up but luck was not on Callum Webb’s side as he rattled the crossbar from just inside the halfway line. Towards the end of the first half Beacon switched off and conceded two quick and sloppy goals to let the visitors back in the game and could’ve found themselves behind if not for another fine save from Josh Tovey. However, they dug deep and recovered the form from the first 25 minutes and in the end got their reward with a goal from Ben Large and another from Alfie Murphy to wrap up a hard-earned victory.

Beacon Hill U12G 1 - Broomfield Lionesses 0
The girls started their first competitive league game with a hard fought win. The opposition put up a good fight with some very strong play. Beacon Hill dug deep with some great passes and teamwork from all over the pitch. In the very last minute of the game their chance came. Megan-Rose showed determination and strength and scored the much deserved and well placed winning goal. A great start to the season! POTM- Megan-Rose.

Beacon Hill U11B 6 - 0 Broomfield Lions
